Testimonials

A friend of mine told me about this, how he’s seen results. He has respiratory problems as well like I have. I thought you know I’ll give it a try.

The last couple of months my voice sort of went on me and I was experiencing voice changes, where I’d lose my voice periodically. After my first treatment I noticed that my voice actually came back to my normal voice and ever since, I’ve been taking these treatments which has been for about two months. This is my ninth treatment today, my voice has still been my regular voice, it hasn’t gone back to like it was before.

I think the salt therapy itself has helped me in that regard. It’s bringing out a lot of phlegm and mucus in my lungs which normally doesn’t happen in normal everyday breathing so I would say give it a try and it’s not that expensive. I spend $60 on coffee every month which is more than what one treatment here costs you. They’re very good here, it’s very comfortable, I’d say give it a try!

I first went because I suffered really badly from psoriasis all over my legs and and I was too embarrassed to wear a skirt or shorts. I was really depressed. I tried loads of stuff, tried steroids and so I really didn’t know if it would work.

Within four weeks it was off my legs! I was wearing skirts and shorts and it’s just been amazing! Every now and then I’ll get a flare up when I’m stressed and literally I just come back, chill in the salt room which is really good for my chest as well and and it just goes away, it’s brilliant!

I recommend it for anyone who suffers any skin problems or breathing problems. Thanks!

My 3-year old son has suffered from acute eczema all over his body from birth and having spent too much money seeing private dermatologists only to be always offered steroid creams, we decided to try halotherapy. Years of steroid creams had left his skin bleached. He wasn’t taking part in activities at school or at home and was generally miserable every day.

At Session 8, my son’s skin had changed. It was extremely dry and flaky and I could brush piles of the bad skin off him. It was a huge improvement and I was happy and optimistic. We haven’t looked back since.

When I look at back at photos of my son’s bad skin, I barely remember it. I’ve purposefully tried to forget he suffered for too long. He is now pain-free, he doesn’t have snake skin on his hands, no deep cuts. Everyone sleeps better. He is happy to go swimming and much happier in the colder weather. He is happier at school and generally he smiles and talks a lot more.

We are forever grateful! And there is no doubt halotherapy does help eczema.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Halotherapy safe?

Yes. Halotherapy is a completely drug-free treatment, safe for all ages. Depending on the age and treatment goals, session times and concentration levels may be adjusted. Please consult your physician with any concerns.

Is Infrared heat safe?

Infrared heat is completely safe and all objects give off and receive infrared heat. In fact, it is so safe, hospitals use similar heaters to warm newborns. Infrared is a part of nature and essential for life.

Is it safe for children?

Yes, Infrared saunas are safe for children, assuming they have no major health conditions or concerns.

With Infrared saunas, it is often better to wait until they are at least able to communicate with you and be able to say if they are too hot or feeling uncomfortable. Because infrared saunas have a low temperature, children are expected to feel more comfortable than traditional saunas.

However, keep in mind that in infrared saunas, their internal temperature will still rise, so you will need to make sure to supervise your child in the sauna. It is also important to keep them well hydrated and ensure they drink water after a session.

Is heated Halotherapy more effective than non-heated?

Yes, when the air is dry and warm, it will allow for deeper penetration and better absorbency of the salt particles in the bronchi. Halotherapy at low levels of heat enhances the experience and efficacy of Halotherapy.

What is the HaloIR™ made of?

North American Basswood is a “white” wood with a yellow to whitish color. Basswood has a very dense cellular structure making it stronger, more stable and sweat resistant. It is also resistant to cracking and splitting. Basswood is also considered hypoallergenic. It has almost no odor and is one of the only woods not considered a “sensitizer” for people with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities.

What are the benefits of the HaloIR™ over other Halotherapy products?

The HaloIR™ supports an elevated wellness experience, 2 highly effective and detoxifying modalities in 1 session, maximizes the efficacy of both modalities, Halotherapy at low levels of heat enhances the efficacy of Halotherapy, full benefit of a full spectrum sauna session, a true 4 in 1 product for more options.

I have a sauna, why can’t I just add a Halogenerator to the enclosure?

Salt is highly corrosive, even in a dry environment. Salt particles will find their way into the electrical components of a sauna and eventually short it out. Additionally, there is an optimal, gradual temperature increase and length of time to effectively enhance the benefit of Halotherapy in a heated environment. HSL has worked extensively to find the perfect integration of both modalities. The two leaders in their respective industry, HSL, and Clearlight Sauna’s, have created the ideal balance to maximize the efficacy of both modalities. This technology, Haloprotectant ™, has been extensively studied and integrated into the HaloIR™.

Halotherapy + Infrared or Red Light Therapy + Chromotherapy

Helps Skin Rejuvenation

Red light therapy, also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT) or photobiomodulation therapy, can help with skin rejuvenation, anti-aging, collagen production, and reducing wrinkling through several mechanisms:

Stimulation of Collagen Production: Red light therapy stimulates fibroblast cells in the skin to produce collagen, which is a protein that provides structure and elasticity to the skin. As we age, collagen production decreases, leading to the formation of wrinkles and sagging skin. By promoting collagen synthesis, red light therapy helps restore skin firmness and elasticity, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Increased Blood Circulation: Red light therapy improves blood circulation in the skin, delivering oxygen and nutrients to the cells and removing waste products. Enhanced circulation supports cellular metabolism and promotes tissue repair and regeneration, contributing to overall skin health and vitality.

Reduction of Inflammation: Red light therapy has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help calm irritation and redness in the skin. By reducing inflammation, red light therapy can improve the appearance of skin conditions such as rosacea and acne, while also minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles associated with inflammation.

Enhanced Wound Healing: Red light therapy accelerates the healing process by stimulating the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the energy currency of cells. This energy boost helps repair damaged skin cells and tissues, promoting faster wound healing and reducing the risk of scarring.

Antioxidant Effects: Red light therapy may have antioxidant effects, helping to neutralize free radicals in the skin that can damage collagen and elastin fibers and contribute to aging. By reducing oxidative stress, red light therapy supports skin health and protects against premature aging.

Overall, red light therapy is a non-invasive and gentle treatment that can effectively rejuvenate the skin, reduce signs of aging, stimulate collagen production, and minimize the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It is safe for most skin types and can be used as a standalone treatment or in combination with other skincare regimens for optimal results. However, consistency is key, and multiple sessions over time may be required to achieve and maintain desired results.

Improves Respiratory Health

Combining halotherapy and infrared therapy can have synergistic effects on respiratory health:

Halotherapy: Halotherapy involves exposure to salt-infused air, which is believed to have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Inhaling salt particles can help reduce inflammation in the respiratory tract, clear mucus, and alleviate symptoms associated with respiratory conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, and allergies. By opening up airways and improving lung function, halotherapy can enhance respiratory health and make breathing easier.

Infrared Therapy: Infrared therapy utilizes infrared light to penetrate the skin and stimulate cellular repair and regeneration. It can improve circulation and oxygenation of tissues, which can aid in the healing of respiratory tissues damaged by inflammation or infection. Additionally, infrared therapy can help relax the muscles surrounding the respiratory system, reducing tension and making it easier to breathe deeply.

When combined, these therapies work together to provide comprehensive support for respiratory health. Halotherapy addresses inflammation and mucus buildup in the airways, while infrared therapy promotes tissue repair and relaxation, leading to improved lung function and easier breathing. This combination can be particularly beneficial for individuals with respiratory conditions or those looking to optimize their lung capacity for athletic performance. However, it’s essential to consult with healthcare professionals before beginning any new therapy regimen, especially for individuals with pre-existing respiratory conditions.

Promotes Detoxification

Combining halotherapy and infrared therapy can promote detoxification through several mechanisms:

Sweating: Infrared therapy heats the body’s tissues, causing a rise in core body temperature. This heat promotes sweating, which is one of the body’s natural mechanisms for detoxification. Sweat contains toxins, such as heavy metals and environmental pollutants, which are eliminated from the body through the skin pores. By inducing sweating, infrared therapy assists in the removal of these toxins.

Improved Circulation: Both halotherapy and infrared therapy can improve circulation. Halotherapy may help dilate blood vessels and improve blood flow, while infrared therapy increases blood circulation by stimulating vasodilation. Enhanced circulation facilitates the transport of toxins from tissues to the organs responsible for detoxification, such as the liver and kidneys, for elimination from the body.

Lymphatic Drainage: Infrared therapy can also stimulate the lymphatic system, which plays a crucial role in detoxification. The lymphatic system helps remove toxins and waste products from the body’s tissues and transports them to the lymph nodes for filtering and elimination. By promoting lymphatic drainage, infrared therapy aids in the detoxification process.

Antioxidant Effects: Infrared therapy may have antioxidant properties, helping to neutralize harmful free radicals in the body. Free radicals are molecules that can damage cells and contribute to the accumulation of toxins. By reducing oxidative stress, infrared therapy supports the body’s detoxification pathways and overall health.

Respiratory Detoxification: Halotherapy involves inhaling salt-infused air, which can help cleanse the respiratory system. The salt particles can help break down mucus and remove allergens, pollutants, and other toxins from the airways. This can improve respiratory function and support the body’s overall detoxification process.

Combining halotherapy and infrared therapy provides a holistic approach to detoxification by promoting sweating, improving circulation, enhancing lymphatic drainage, providing antioxidant support, and cleansing the respiratory system. However, it’s essential to stay hydrated during and after these therapies to support the body’s detoxification processes effectively. Additionally, individuals with certain health conditions should consult with healthcare professionals before undergoing these therapies.

Helps with Chronic Pain

Combining halotherapy and infrared therapy can be beneficial for managing chronic pain through various mechanisms:

Pain Relief: Infrared therapy penetrates deep into tissues, increasing blood flow and promoting relaxation of muscles and joints. This can help alleviate chronic pain by reducing muscle tension and stiffness.

Anti-Inflammatory Effects: Halotherapy has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation in the respiratory system and throughout the body. Infrared therapy may also have anti-inflammatory effects by modulating inflammatory cytokines. By minimizing inflammation, these therapies can alleviate pain associated with inflammatory conditions such as arthritis or fibromyalgia.

Enhanced Circulation: Infrared therapy improves blood circulation by stimulating vasodilation, which enhances the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to tissues. Improved circulation can help relieve pain by reducing ischemia (lack of blood flow) and promoting tissue repair.

Muscle Relaxation: Both halotherapy and infrared therapy promote relaxation of muscles, which can help alleviate tension-related pain. Infrared therapy, in particular, can penetrate deep into muscles, providing targeted relief to areas of chronic pain.

Stress Reduction: Both therapies promote relaxation and reduce stress levels, which can indirectly alleviate chronic pain by reducing tension and improving overall well-being. Stress can exacerbate chronic pain conditions, so managing stress through halotherapy and infrared therapy may provide significant pain relief benefits.

Improved Sleep: Chronic pain often disrupts sleep patterns, leading to fatigue and exacerbating pain symptoms. Both halotherapy and infrared therapy can promote relaxation and improve sleep quality, allowing individuals with chronic pain to experience better rest and enhanced pain management.

By combining halotherapy and infrared therapy, individuals with chronic pain can benefit from a comprehensive approach to pain management that addresses inflammation, circulation, muscle tension, stress, and sleep quality. However, it’s important to consult with healthcare professionals before incorporating these therapies into a pain management regimen, as they may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with certain medical conditions.

Boosts Immune System

Red light therapy has been suggested to potentially boost the immune system through various mechanisms, though the research in this area is still ongoing. Here’s how it may contribute:

Modulation of Inflammatory Response: Red light therapy has been shown to modulate the immune response by reducing inflammation. Chronic inflammation can weaken the immune system and make the body more susceptible to infections and diseases. By reducing inflammation, red light therapy may help support immune function and enhance the body’s ability to fight off pathogens.

Enhanced Cellular Function: Red light therapy stimulates cellular energy production by promoting the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the energy currency of cells. This boost in cellular energy can help improve the function of immune cells, such as white blood cells, which play a crucial role in identifying and neutralizing pathogens.

Increased Circulation: Red light therapy improves blood circulation, which can enhance the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to tissues throughout the body, including immune organs like the spleen and lymph nodes. Improved circulation supports overall immune function by ensuring that immune cells are adequately nourished and can travel efficiently to sites of infection or injury.

Activation of Photoreceptors: Red light therapy activates certain photoreceptors in cells, such as cytochrome c oxidase, which are involved in cellular signaling pathways related to immune function. By stimulating these photoreceptors, red light therapy may help regulate immune responses and promote a balanced immune system.

Reduction of Oxidative Stress: Red light therapy has antioxidant properties, meaning it can help neutralize harmful free radicals in the body. Excessive oxidative stress can weaken the immune system and contribute to chronic diseases. By reducing oxidative stress, red light therapy may help support immune health and protect against infections and other illnesses.

While there is some evidence to suggest that red light therapy may have immune-boosting effects, more research is needed to fully understand its mechanisms of action and its potential applications for immune support. It’s also important to note that red light therapy should not be considered a substitute for conventional medical treatments for immune-related conditions, but rather as a complementary therapy that may help support overall health and well-being.

Enhances Sports Performance

Halotherapy, also known as salt therapy, involves exposure to salt-infused air in a controlled environment, typically in a salt cave or room. This therapy is believed to have respiratory and skin health benefits due to the anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties of salt particles. Infrared therapy, on the other hand, utilizes infrared light to penetrate the skin and stimulate healing and tissue repair.

When combined, these therapies can enhance sports performance in several ways:

Respiratory health: Halotherapy can improve lung function and respiratory health by reducing inflammation and clearing mucus from the airways. This can lead to better oxygenation of muscles during exercise, improving endurance and performance.

Stress Reduction: Both therapies promote relaxation and reduce stress levels, which can improve sleep quality and facilitate recovery. Adequate rest and relaxation are essential components of the recovery process, allowing the body to repair and rebuild tissues damaged during exercise or injury.

By combining halotherapy and infrared therapy, individuals can benefit from a synergistic approach to recovery that addresses muscle relaxation, pain relief, improved circulation, reduced inflammation, enhanced immune function, and stress reduction. This comprehensive approach can help athletes and individuals recovering from injuries or intense physical activity return to peak performance more quickly and effectively. However, it’s essential to consult with healthcare professionals before incorporating these therapies into a recovery regimen, especially for individuals with pre-existing health conditions.

Enhances Brain Function

Red light therapy has been suggested to enhance brain function through various mechanisms, though research in this area is still evolving. Here are some ways it may contribute:

Increased Blood Flow and Oxygenation: Red light therapy improves blood circulation, which can enhance the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the brain. Adequate blood flow is essential for optimal brain function, including cognition, memory, and decision-making.

Stimulation of Mitochondrial Activity: Red light therapy stimulates cellular energy production by promoting the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) in mitochondria, the energy powerhouses of cells. This boost in cellular energy can support the metabolic demands of brain cells, improving overall brain function.

Neuroprotective Effects: Red light therapy has been shown to have neuroprotective effects, helping to protect brain cells from damage caused by oxidative stress, inflammation, and other harmful factors. By reducing neuronal damage and promoting cell survival, red light therapy may help preserve cognitive function and prevent age-related cognitive decline.

Enhancement of Neuroplasticity: Neuroplasticity refers to the brain’s ability to reorganize and form new neural connections in response to learning and experience. Red light therapy may enhance neuroplasticity by promoting the growth of new nerve cells and synapses, as well as facilitating synaptic transmission. This can support learning, memory formation, and cognitive flexibility.

Regulation of Neurotransmitters: Red light therapy may influence the levels of neurotransmitters, such as serotonin and dopamine, which play key roles in mood regulation, motivation, and cognitive function. By modulating neurotransmitter activity, red light therapy may help improve mood, focus, and overall cognitive performance.

Reduction of Inflammation: Chronic inflammation in the brain has been linked to various neurological disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. Red light therapy has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce neuroinflammation and protect against neurodegenerative diseases.

While there is promising evidence to suggest that red light therapy may enhance brain function, more research is needed to fully understand its mechanisms of action and its potential applications for cognitive enhancement and neuroprotection. It’s important to note that red light therapy should not be considered a substitute for conventional treatments for neurological conditions, but rather as a complementary therapy that may help support brain health and function.

Helps Dry Skin Conditions

Combining halotherapy and infrared therapy can be beneficial for managing dry skin conditions through several mechanisms:

Hydration: Halotherapy involves exposure to salt-infused air, which can attract moisture to the skin and improve hydration levels. Salt particles have hygroscopic properties, meaning they can draw moisture from the environment and help replenish moisture levels in the skin. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals with dry skin conditions, such as eczema or psoriasis, as it helps restore the skin’s natural barrier function and reduce dryness.

Exfoliation: Halotherapy can also help exfoliate the skin by removing dead skin cells and promoting cell turnover. The fine salt particles act as natural exfoliants, gently sloughing off dead skin cells and revealing smoother, softer skin underneath. This can improve the texture and appearance of dry, rough skin and enhance the effectiveness of moisturizers and other skincare products.

Anti-Inflammatory Effects: Both halotherapy and infrared therapy have anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation and irritation associated with dry skin conditions. Halotherapy can help soothe itching and irritation by reducing inflammation in the skin, while infrared therapy may help modulate inflammatory cytokines and promote tissue repair.

Improved Circulation: Infrared therapy increases blood circulation by stimulating vasodilation, which can enhance the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the skin. Improved circulation helps nourish the skin from within, promoting cellular regeneration and enhancing skin health. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals with dry skin conditions, as it can help improve the skin’s ability to retain moisture and maintain hydration levels.

Relaxation and Stress Reduction: Both therapies promote relaxation and reduce stress levels, which can indirectly benefit dry skin conditions. Stress can exacerbate skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, leading to flare-ups and worsening symptoms. By promoting relaxation and reducing stress, halotherapy and infrared therapy can help alleviate symptoms and improve overall skin health.

By combining halotherapy and infrared therapy, individuals with dry skin conditions can benefit from a comprehensive approach to skincare that addresses hydration, exfoliation, inflammation, circulation, and stress reduction. However, it’s important to consult with dermatologists or skincare professionals before incorporating these therapies into a skincare regimen, as they may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with certain skin conditions or sensitivities.

Helps with Weight Loss

Infrared therapy, often administered through saunas or specialized devices, is believed to contribute to weight loss through several mechanisms:

Increased Caloric Expenditure: Infrared therapy raises the body’s core temperature, inducing a state similar to moderate exercise. This increase in body temperature can lead to sweating, which expends energy and burns calories. Studies have suggested that a session of infrared therapy can burn a comparable number of calories to a moderate-intensity workout.

Enhanced Metabolism: Infrared therapy may stimulate metabolic processes, including the conversion of food into energy. By boosting metabolism, the body can more efficiently utilize calories for energy production, potentially leading to greater weight loss over time.

Detoxification: Infrared therapy promotes sweating, which facilitates the elimination of toxins and metabolic waste products from the body. Some proponents of infrared therapy suggest that this detoxification process can help optimize metabolic function and promote weight loss.

Reduction of Stress and Cortisol Levels: Chronic stress and elevated cortisol levels have been linked to weight gain and difficulty losing weight. Infrared therapy has been shown to promote relaxation and reduce stress levels, which may help lower cortisol levels and alleviate stress-related weight gain.

Improved Circulation and Lymphatic Drainage: Infrared therapy increases blood circulation and lymphatic flow, which can help improve nutrient delivery to cells and enhance the removal of metabolic waste products. Improved circulation and lymphatic drainage support overall metabolic function and may contribute to weight loss efforts.

Appetite Regulation: Some anecdotal evidence suggests that infrared therapy may help regulate appetite by balancing hormone levels involved in hunger and satiety. By promoting hormonal balance, infrared therapy may help individuals better manage their food intake and support weight loss goals.

While infrared therapy may offer potential benefits for weight loss, it’s important to note that it should be used as part of a comprehensive weight loss plan that includes regular exercise, a balanced diet, and healthy lifestyle habits. Additionally, individual results may vary, and more research is needed to fully understand the effectiveness of infrared therapy for weight loss.
